Hey folks! It’s that time once again where we need your help in testing the images before we make the final release later this week.
There are two sets of testcases which must be completed before we can release final images:
If you decide to go through a test, please mark it as In Progress so others are aware that a test is on-going and we can ensure all tests are completed.
If you want more information on how to participate in testing, also check out this article:
If you have additional questions or feedback, you can also find us on IRC in #ubuntu-gnome. Other relevant channels are #ubuntu-quality or #ubuntu-release. And thanks to everyone for helping to make our first official UbuntuGNOME release a great one!
Today, we are excited to announce that the official Ubuntu GNOME website is now available at: http://UbuntuGnome.org
Over the coming months we will be adding lots of information about our favourite distribution. If you have any requests for features or content you would like to see on our site, feedback is always welcome at:
Mailing List: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-gnome
IRC: #ubuntu-gnome channel on the freenode network.
We are pleased to announce that Ubuntu GNOME is now an official Ubuntu flavour. We recently applied to the Tech Board to become an official Ubuntu flavour and the Tech Board approved our request at their most recent meeting!
Ubuntu GNOME aims to bring a mostly pure GNOME desktop experience to Ubuntu. Our first release for 12.10 showed that there was a strong demand for a great GNOME experience on Ubuntu and we are now working towards our second release based on Ubuntu 13.04.
We will not be participating in this week’s Beta 1 Release but we are planning to release images for the Final Beta at the end of the month. Daily image builds are currently being set up and we except that they will be available within a few weeks.
Ubuntu GNOME 13.04 will be released with GNOME 3.6, since Ubuntu held back on GNOME this cycle. We are however making GNOME 3.8 available from
the GNOME3 PPA.
As always we are on the lookout for new contributors. There are plenty of tasks beyond coding and packaging that we could use help with!
The Ubuntu GNOME developers are proud to announce today’s release of the Ubuntu GNOME Remix.
The Ubuntu GNOME Remix is an unofficial Ubuntu flavor that aims to bring the best of GNOME to Ubuntu users. The 12.10 release is our first stable release and is recommended for anyone interested in the GNOME experience.
This release includes most of GNOME 3.6. To see what’s new, check out http://library.gnome.org/misc/release-notes/3.6/
As this is our first release, there are still a few minor issues. For more details, see our release notes.
We welcome contributions from anyone who is willing to help make the Ubuntu GNOME Remix better.
